Obituary of Ricky Lee Hansen

Ricky passed away quietly at his parents’ home on August 9, 2014. He is survived by his father, LTC (Ret) Vernon K. Hansen; mother, Donalee Hansen; twin brother, Dave Hansen and wife Virginia of Olympia, Washington; nephew, Deke Hansen, his wife Leilani and son Jayden of Olympia; nephew, Dustin Hansen and wife Veronica of Los Angeles, California; and nephew, Dallas Hansen of Portland, Oregon. He resided in Whitewater, WI until 1961 when his father was called to active duty with the Wisconsin National Guard and relocated the family to Tacoma, Washington. When the family was reassigned to Berlin, Germany, Ricky started school in the Department of Defense American School in Berlin. Due to his father’s military assignments, Ricky and his twin Dave attended 13 different schools in 12 years, graduating from Timberline High School in 1976. Ricky accepted The Lord as his personal Savior at Chetek Baptist Assembly (a summer camp in Chetek, WI) as a teenager and was later baptized at Benning Hills Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. He was a member of “Manna” and “The One Way Gospel Singers,” and spent a year traveling the world with “Up With People.” He was a professional long haul truck driver for many years and drove a gravel truck for Miles Sand and Gravel for the past 20 years. He took pride in being selected “mentor” for the company during his last years of employment. Please leave memories of Ricky or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
