Obituary of Samuel Lewis Hambrick

Samuel passed away of cancer on September 15, 2013 in Rainier, Washington. He was born June 2, 1946 to William and Lila Hambrick in Carnesville, Georgia. Sam served in the U.S. Army from October 13, 1966 to October 11, 1968, and was last stationed at Fort Lewis. He loved the area and made Washington his home, residing in the Yelm/Rainier area for 46 years. He was married to Darlene O’Neal on February 25, 1969, divorced April 3, 1995. He married Cynthia Clooney on September 11, 1997. Cynthia passed on November 29, 2007. Sam loved hunting and fishing, and was a member of Yelm’s Moose Lodge and Eagles. He is survived by his daughter, Sonia Hambrick-Wengelewski, and baby granddaughter, Mariah Darlene Wengelewski; children from Darlene, Charla, Mike, Pat, Jo and Melissa; children from Cynthia, John, Christine, Dawn and Angela; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren from both marriages; brother, Herbert Hambrick; and sister, Elizabeth Harper. A potluck memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Moose Lodge, 1117 W. Yelm Ave., Yelm, WA 98597.
