I knew Frank (and Margaret and their sons) in the early 1970’s while an under and grad student at U of MT and very active in the UM student Wesley Foundation. When I came back to Missoula to work, Frank and family lived down end of our alley until he moved to Albuquerque. I will always remember Frank’s eyebrows, gentle, loving and kind presence and sense of humor. He was big brotherish to this oldest child. He was a primary force calling into major museum status our Historical Museum at Fort Missoula. All in all, Frank was a wonderful person, friend. My condolences to his family near and far.

Dear Jan, Please accept my condolences on the death of Frank. He was a wonderful man; warm, friendly, caring and passionate about serving others. I will always remember and cherish the time and memories from our UMVIM Hurricane Katrina mission trip to New Orleans. You and Frank were such a wonderful part of that team. You are in my prayers.

I worked with Frank when he was the director of the Fort Missoula Historical Museum and later when he worked for Hostorical Research Associates. Frank was a kind and gentle soul who always saw good in his fellow man. He will be missed.

Frank was a vital part of the “village” that raised our children. We learned to ski because he made that possible. In their early years his boys and our girls might as well have been siblings or cousins because of the leadership and support he provided. I am thankful that I bumped into Frank and Jan not too many years ago on a Gates of the Mountains trip. It was heart warming to be together once again in the mountainous outdoors. I will remember him that way. The world is a better place for having Frank.

We just saw the obituary for Frank in the Missoulian. We’re so sorry to read this news. Frank was a wonderful person. He married Sue and me in 1978. Sue worked for Frank at the county historical museum in the 70s and Frank worked for my company,HRA, in the late 80s and early 90s. He was a great friend.
Please express our sympathies to the family.
