Obituary of Sheena Veda Connell

Sheena Veda Connell, age 72, passed away December 29, 2017, in Olympia, Washington, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a warrior and so gracious and kind to everyone she met. She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Mote and her partner Adam; grandchildren, Willow, Harvest and Gabriel; her step-daughters, Michelle Rogers and her husband Brian, and Gretchen Haunstein and her husband Lyle, and their daughters, Savannah and Taylor; sister, Linda and husband Marshall; nieces, Aura, Myla and Carla and their families in Spokane and Seattle, Washington; brother, Jay and wife Julie; nieces, Katrina and Abby of Seattle and Juneau, Alaska; and former husband, Allen Mote (Tanya’s father). She is preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Connell. Sheena was a former first grade teacher, and a spiritual counselor with a beautiful singing voice who loved her family very much and loved praying to make the world a better place. Sheena’s life mission was to spread loving kindness to the world. We will do our best to continue her legacy. Please leave memories of Sheena or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.

Sheena’s family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, February 11, 2018, 3:00 p.m. at United Churches, 110 11th Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501. Please join us if you are moved to do so. Donations in her name can be made to Providence Foundation- Hospice Care online at https://washington.providence.org/donate/st-peter-foundation/donate/. She received such love and comfort from the caring people in Hospice. She would love to know more people were able to be surrounded with their “angel wings” of love.
