Obituary of Jerome A. Genson

Jerome A. “Jerry” Genson passed away Feb. 23, 2014 in Olympia, Wash., at age 75. He was born Aug. 1, 1938 in Sheboygan, Wisc., to Paul and Cecilia (Gottsacker) Genson. He graduated in 1956 from Sheboygan Falls High School, and served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 1, 1961 to Oct. 31, 1963 and received a Good Conduct Medal. Jerry married Sharon Kinney in 1962; she passed away June 27, 2007. Professionally, Jerry devoted 41 years to the U.S. Postal Service. A 40-year resident of McCleary, Wash., Jerry was a devoted, proud, and loving father. He had a witty sense of humor, and enjoyed holiday family dinners, playing cards, and watching football, tennis and baseball. Jerry is survived by daughters, Lori Ann Genson of Olympia, Lisa Marie Sheehan of Santa Rosa, Calif., Kari Ellen Stroud of Lacey, and Kathleen Cecilia Genson of Yelm; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and sister, Rosemary Genson Pawloski of California. He was predeceased by his wife; and brothers, Bernard and Cletis Genson. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, Feb.28, 2014, at Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501. Rest in Peace Dad. We Love You, Your Girls.
