Obituary of Augustine Gamino

Augustine “Augie,” 81, passed away at home in Olympia, Washington on March 29, 2014. He was born June 28, 1932 to Agustin and Juanita (Zavala) Gamino in San Bernardina, California. He was raised in Monterey Park, but also lived in Pico Rivera, Montebello, Huntington Beach, and East Los Angeles, California. In 1956, Augie married the love of his life, Carol Brady, in Montebello. Together, they raised four children. Augie was an incredible man who loved people and his family. He always put others ahead of himself. He was a great father and friend. Augie was everyone’s friend and always remembered a face. He liked baseball, especially watching the Mariners and Dodgers play, and playing golf. He loved going out to eat, and his beloved Beagle, Maxine. He is a friend of FFA and 4-H. Augie is survived by sons, Andrew (Missy Schwartz) of Bellingham, Washington, and Thomas of Martinsburg, West Virginia; daughters, Kathleen Perry (Darrell) of Ethel, Washington, and Patricia O’Neil (Kevin) of Lacey, Washington; sisters, Vera Sandoval of Apple Valley, California, and Velia Castruita of San Bernardino, California; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carol; his parents; brother, Jimmy; and sisters, Erma and Mary. Please leave memories of Augie or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
