Obituary of Marjorie Ashim Gahan

Marjorie Ashim Gahan, born March 19, 1921 in Harmony, Minnesota, passed away August 7, 2014 in Tacoma, Washington, after a lengthy illness. Marjorie lived to be 93 years old. She lived a very active life. She loved nature and the outdoors. Traveling, camping, hiking and fishing were her favorite things to do. She attended the Church of Living Water for the four years she lived in Olympia, Washington. Marjorie grew up in Minnesota and lived three of those years in Iowa. She moved to Aberdeen, Washington, where she married Harry Coles and where two of her children were born, Bill and Carolyn Coles. She and the children moved to Oregon and lived many years in the Portland area where her son, David, was born. She later lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, to be near David, before moving back to Washington. Marjorie is survived by her son, David Gahan of Olympia; son, Bill Coles of Seattle; daughter, Carolyn Coles Clark of Portland; two granddaughters; sisters, Clara Mae Ashim Crites of Lacey, Washington, and Shirley Ann Ashim Tompkins of Aberdeen, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Matilda Ashim, three brothers, and a sister. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Church of Living Water, 1615 Chambers St. SE, Building E1, Olympia, WA.
