Jean Fuller

Obituary of Jean Fuller

Jean was born on March 11, 1922, in Burnaby, British Columbia, to parents Grace and Jack Sulley. She died on August, 23, 2013, in Olympia, Washington. She is survived by her son Ross Fuller (Patty), and granddaughters Hailey Fuller of Olympia, Washington, and Hilary Fuller Summerlin, Nevada, and many nephews and nieces in the US and Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband John T (Jack) Fuller in 2008. Jean most recently lived at the Sequoia Assisted Living Home in Olympia. Before settling in Olympia, she lived in Burnaby, British Columbia, Tacoma, Washington, and Seattle, Washington. Jean attended Stadium High School in Tacoma, the University of Washington, and the University of Puget Sound. Jean worked for the Washington State DSHS for over 30 years beginning as a social case worker in downtown Seattle and retiring from the Senior Service/Volunteer Section in Olympia. Her entire life has been assisting others whether professionally or personally. As a young wife and mother, Jean was active with husband Jack in the early days of the Washington Foldboat Club (Now Washington Kayak Club) and ran most rivers of the northwest US and Canada. In addition, they were both active in the Mountaineers. They also spent most of their spare time at their beach place on Marrowstone Island. After retirement, Jean and many great friends travelled the world and visited most continents, hiking and exploring these wonderful locations. Closer to home Jean was a “Founding Mother” of the Tuesday Trotters hiking club. Jean had a kindly heart and would always help a friend in need. In Lieu of donations, please reach out and help a friend, and whether long distance or short, travel as much as you can and pass on goodwill wherever you may go. No immediate services have been planned. Please leave memories of Jean or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
