Obituary of Steve Ford

Steven 55, died March 23, 2013 at his home in Olympia surrounded by family. Steve was born January 1, 1958 to Alan and Marjorie (Olson) Ford in Madison, South Dakota. The family moved to Washington State in 1960, first to Kennewick before settling in Shelton in 1962. Steven attended school in Shelton where he participated in wrestling in junior and high school. Steve graduated from Shelton High School in June 1976. After high school Steve joined the United States Air Force. He was then stationed at the Ellsworth Air Force base near Rapid City, South Dakota for four years where he worked as a missile mechanic After Steve’s service in the Air Force he returned to Washington and worked his way through nursing school at South Puget Sound Community College, where he received his RN degree. Steve worked as a nurse for 25 years, including the last 11 at the Washington State Correctionenter. Steve Married Dana Utecht on July 7, 2007. Steve studied Karate at the Shelton Butokukuan Karate School where he achieved the rand of Shodan (Black Belt) in January 2006. His interest included fishing, Seahawks football, collecting beer steins and being with his family. Steve is survived by his wife, Dana of Olympia; Daughter Tiffany Kulseth (Dan Kulseth) of Olympia; step daughter Whitney Utecht; Granddaughters Paiton and Lilly Kulseth of Olympia; mother, Marge Ford of Shelton; five sisters, Liana Jones-Smith (Daniel Smith), Tami Ford, Toni Wharton (Joseph), Teri Miller (Jay Stillwell) and Krista “Cricket” Carter (Michael) all of Shelton; one brother, Tim ford of Shelton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Ford.
