Obituary of George A. Engledow

George, 82, passed away May 24, 2013 in Olympia, Washington. He was born January 30, 1931 in Seattle, Washington to Charles O. and Eila B. McKillip Engledow. George served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946 to 1957, during the Korean War. He completed his 20 years of service with the National Guard. George earned an MA degree from St. Martin’s College in Lacey, Washington, and worked for the Washington State Patrol from 1957 to 1983. He married Iris A. Thornton on August 20, 1950 in Yuma, Arizona; she passed away October 14, 2003. He married Barbara Herman on March 3, 2005 in Reno, Nevada. He is survived by his wife, Barbara B. Engledow; stepsons, Nicholas, Gregory, Marcus and Kevin Herman; and daughter, Becky L. Engledow of Arizona City, Arizona. A celebration of George’s life will be held Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Eagle’s Landing Clubhouse, 2257 West Eagle Lane SW, Tumwater, WA 98512.
