Obituary of Karen Elaine Duane

Karen, 49, passed away quietly in her sleep at her home in Shoreline, Washington, after a 3 ½-year battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband, Randy; and children, Austin (19), Rowan (16), and Leah (13). She is also survived by her parents, Jim and Jean Olson of Lacey, Washington; and siblings, Ken Olson of Olympia, Washington, Katherine Neal of Boardman, Oregon, and Keith Olson of Clarkston, Washington. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins are scattered throughout the Northwest. Karen graduated from Shorecrest High School in Shoreline, and attended one year at the University of Washington. She initially worked in the import-export trade, and was a part time fashion model, plus as a modeling instructor. Her last 25 years were as a dental assistant and dental office manager, all in the Greater Seattle-King County area. Her bubbling personality and outgoing nature helped Karen develop a wide circle of friends. She will be dearly missed by all.
