Obituary of Addie Shannon Davis

Shannon passed away November 1, 2013 in Olympia, Washington, at age 83. She was born to Charles Ottwell Morford and Addie Kate Morford (Boyce) on October 8, 1930 in Seattle, Washington. Shannon graduated from Mount Si High School in 1948. She and Robert David Davis were married on August 26, 1950 in Tolt, Washington. Professionally, Shannon was a telephone operator in Snoqualmie Valley and later for the US government; a grocery store owner in Renton, Washington; a bookkeeper at Hilton Hotel; and she processed many nurses’ licenses for the State of Washington. She was an avid reader and enjoyed painting, knitting, crafting, interacting on Facebook, and searching Ancestry.com. Shannon was a dedicated mentor for families whose children have health issues, a supporter of Native American children, and a member of the Order of the Amaranth. Shannon is survived by her sons, Charles David Davis and James Terrance Davis; daughter, Dawn Marie Davis Salters; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and brother, Jerome Morford. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Duane Davis. Memorial donations may be made to Safeplace.org or any battered women’s shelter.
