Darrel Clark

Obituary of Darrel G. Clark

Born June 13, 1946 to Forrest and Sylvia Clark, in Dunsmuir, California, Darrel passed away September 10, 2014 in Rochester, Washington, after battling cancer of the liver. He was 68. A Rochester High School graduate, Darrel married Ruth Pritchard on January 10, 1976 in Olympia, Washington. He was a member of the National Guard and worked in the logging industry for 45 years. Darrel had a contagious smile and laugh, and loved to make others laugh with him. He was a social person who was hardworking and giving, always ready to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. He was also positive and optimistic. He would often say, “Don’t worry about it. There’s nothing you can do about it.” And then he would be off after his ever expanding big dreams. Darrel loved watching sports, and taking someone’s junk and turning it into treasures. He was a member of the Lions Club, Rochester Booster Club, Rochester Youth Sports, Hoss Field, and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. He was a 56-year resident of Rochester. Darrel is survived by his wife, Ruth Clark; sons, Kevin Moss Clark of Centralia, Washington, and Cameron Clark of Winlock, Washington; daughter, Kendra Clark of Littlerock, Washington; six grandchildren; mother, Sylvia Clark; brother, David Clark of Rochester; and sister, Mary June Lien of Centralia. He was predeceased by his father, Forrest “Frosty” Clark, and brother, Jerry Clark. Memorial donations may be made to the “Darrel Clark Family Fund” through Key Bank in Rochester to help pay medical bills.
