Annette Castellano

Obituary of Annette Elizabeth Castellano

Annette Elizabeth Castellano died peacefully in her Lacey home on August 15, 2013. She was born in New York City on June 18, 1950, daughter of John and Mary Castellano. Long plagued by multiple health issues, she always had a positive outlook. At the time of her death, she was employed by the Meyer Law Office in Olympia. Annette was a deeply spiritual woman and a perpetual student. All of her life, she was a seeker. She was certified in Human Resources Management by the University of Washington, was a Reiki practitioner and a certified mediator. For a period of time, she was a teacher of intuitive abilities for Adult Education at Pierce College. She also had been a board member of the Thurston County Dispute Resolution Center and the Boys and Girls Club of Thurston County. An avid gardener, Annette was also a lover of animals. After her death, her cat Leah was adopted by a long-time friend, and her lovebird, Janie, found a mate at the Steamboat Island Animal Hospital, where she now resides. Annette also had a special love of peacocks. In her home was housed a collection of objects with a peacock-related theme, and when she lived in the country, she nurtured a series of peacocks as pets. Annette’s survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Millet, of upstate New York, as well as several other siblings, nieces and nephews residing in New York City. She is greatly missed by her many friends and former students. Friends of Annette are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial gathering on Saturday, October 12, 2013, from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. The gathering will be held at the Olympia Center, 222 Columbia Street, Olympia, Washington. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Annette’s memory may be made to Thurston County Animal Services, 3120 Martin Way, Olympia, WA 98506, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
