Obituary of Arthur E. Burgner

Arthur Ellis Burgner, 100, passed away June 12, 2014 in Olympia, Washington. He was born August 26, 1913 to Charles Jerome and Lenora Augusta Burgner in Chuckey, Tennessee. Arthur graduated from Chuckey schools and joined the U.S. Army. He served during WWII in France and Hawaii. In 1959, he married Laura Louise (Downs) Weiks in Olympia. Arthur worked as a farmhand and milk truck driver for Weiks Bros. Dairy. After that, he worked for Darigold, delivering dairy products to local restaurants and grocery stores. In later years, he drove transport for them. Arthur always had a smile and positive outlook, and was always willing to pitch in and help friends and neighbors. He is survived by four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Laura, in 2005; his parents; brothers, Robert Burgner and Brownlow Burgner; and sisters, Daisey Cox, Fanny Walters, Mary Wilhoit, Julia Mitchell, Bonnie Miller, and Lucy Broyles.
