Obituary of Hazel Brown

Hazel Pauline Brown August 15, 1918 – March 5, 2013 Pauline, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, surrounded by close family. She was born in Peotone, IL, to Paul Benn and Pearl (Waters) Benn. She graduated from Vandalia High School in 1936. Shortly thereafter, Pauline moved to California with her parents. She graduated from Willis Business College in Santa Monica, CA, in 1938. In California, she met her future husband, Clinton Hoyt Brown. They married September 21, 1944, in Santa Barbara, CA. Together, they raised six children, three sons and three daughters. Pauline was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was very interested in family history and genealogy. While living in Salt Lake City, UT, she served a family history mission. Since moving to Thurston County, she had been a member of Lacey 3rd Ward. Pauline is survived by her three sons Gary (Ruth) Brown (Nicholasville, KY), Robert (Marylin) Brown (Olympia, WA), and Phillip (Cheryl) Brown (Camas, WA); her three daughters Linda Coleman (Sun Valley, CA), Susan Allen, Nikiski, AK and Sandra (David) Hodges, Portland, Oregon; brother Robert Edward Benn (Myrtle Creek, OR), sister Janet Finlay (Tualatin, OR); 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton H. Brown, her parents, brother Robert Allan Benn.
