Lewis married Gloria M. Anderson on December 1, 1950, in Spokane, Washington.

As a young boy, Lewis would shine shoes instead of going to school in order to support his mother and sisters, until he went into the service January 1946. He then moved his family and transferred to the Olympia, Washington, Post Office until July 1985 when he retired.

Then he and Gloria moved to Lincoln City. They lived there for 37years.  Lewis enjoyed singing in the church choir as a boy and also at their local senior center choir night in Lincoln City. Together over the years, they like building and remodeling their homes, salmon fishing and camping. Fishing in Alaska was his favorite time as well as traveling abroad to Europe and Holland and throughout the U.S. with his wife, Gloria.  They enjoyed 72 years together, until her passing on February 23 2022.
