Daniel Farver

Obituary of Daniel James Farver

Daniel James Farver, 72, passed comfortably at his Olympia, Washington, home on February 3, 2024, after a heroic battle with cancer. He lived a life serving his Lord, beginning his mornings with prayer and offering devotions daily.

Dan was born January 6, 1952, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Charles Arthur Farver and Nettie Louise (Robbins) Farver. He attended St. Mary’s School and Central High School.

He served six years in the U.S. Army, based in Fort Lewis, Washington, and in Germany, where he was a “tanker.”  He later gained expertise and certification as a restaurant equipment service technician and earned his electrical license.

He married Debbie Potts on November 28, 1981.

Dan was best known for his love of the outdoors, his good sense of humor, and his care and compassion for others.  He enjoyed cutting firewood and was affectionately called “Dan, Dan, the Firewood Man.”  He loved driving his 1972 Chevy truck, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.  Other pastimes included chess, basketball, and community volunteer work.  In his younger years, he was an avid boxer.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Debbie; his loving son, Kenny; brothers, Larry, Paul, Kenny and Mike Farver; sister, Laurie Hobbs; along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, William “Billy” Farver.
