Obituary of Ella Mae Reichel

Ella Mae passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023, just shy of her 90th birthday, feisty to the end.

Ella is survived by sons, Ross (Linda) and Reid; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ella was born in Rainier, Washington, where she graduated Rainier High School in1952; met her husband, Hugh “Buck” Reichel; and raised her two sons, numerous dogs, an occasional fawn, goats and ducks to name just a few on their Rainier ranch.

Ella and Buck enjoyed jeeping with friends, camping at the beach and at the Deschutes River with family.  Over the years, they also spent time boating in Hoodsport, snow birding in Arizona, and living in Shelton.  Ella loved working in her flower beds and always had her dogs (Babe, Buddy, Jazz) close by.

Ella was always quick to laugh and speak her mind (and sometimes even tell you what yours should be!). Though petite she was, shy she was not. And we will miss it all.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at the Rainier Chapel in Rainier, Washington. A potluck will follow.

Please leave condolences or share memories and photos on the Tribute Wall to the left.
