Obituary of Cheri Marie (Jones) Schoelkopf

Cheri Marie (Jones) Schoelkopf, 70, of Rochester, Washington, passed away on October 12, 2023, in Centralia, Washington, with her family by her side. She was a very loving Mother, Sister, Partner, and Friend who will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Cheri was born on December 16, 1952, in Olympia, Washington. She spent her early years in East Olympia before moving to Littlerock, Washington, in 1969. She graduated from Tumwater High School in 1971, and lived most of her adult life in Tenino, Washington, with her family.

She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life, including working as a bartender, tree farm worker, and salesclerk before starting her more than 20-year career with Labor and Industries, where she retired in 2012.

More than anything, Cheri was a devoted Mom. She loved spending time with her girls, whether it be flower shopping on Mother's Day, trips to the casino, or just sitting around chatting and sharing stories.

She loved the outdoors, spending much of her time with her family at Riffe Lake, camping and fishing, or in the woods riding quads and hunting. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what, and never hesitated to say how proud she was.

Cheri is survived by her loving daughters, Bobbi Jo Neumeier (Jed), and Stephanie Schoelkopf-Banning (Bill), all of Tenino, Washington; her sister, Sue Jones of Morton, Washington; her partner, Randy Trana of Rochester, Washington; as well as her bonus kids, bonus grandkids, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. Her memory will be cherished forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Swede and Phil Jones; brother, Lyle Jones; and husband, Ric Schoelkopf.

A celebration of her life will be held on her birthday, December 16, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Littlerock Posse Hall, 5949 Maytown Road SW, Olympia, WA 98512.
