Obituary of Kathryn Elaine (Canfield) Hoover

Dear wife, mom, sister, grandma, and friend, Kathryn Elaine (Canfield) Hoover, died of Parkinson’s complications on October 5, 2023. We will miss her! Kathy passed peacefully into the hands of Jesus.

 

Kathy was born on March 22, 1951, to Albert and Irene Canfield. She is survived by her husband, John; sister, Arlene Reynolds (Everett); brother, Ken Canfield (Sue); her three grown children, Joshua, Kirsten (Karl), Caleb (Loretta); and 10 terrific grandchildren.

 

Kathy was a proud Tumwater High School Thunderbirds grad. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Nursing in 1973, and Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon, with a Masters in Missions in 1978. She also received certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Oregon.

 

John and Kathy married in 1977. Kathy loved raising their three children and watching them grow. Together John and Kathy have been members and served in various ministries at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship in Olympia, Washington. Kathy grew up at Emmanuel and loved her church family very much.

 

Kathy loved kids of all ages. She served as a pediatric nurse for several years and a school nurse with the North Thurston Public Schools for 23 years until her retirement in 2014.

 

Brooks Blessings Adult Family Home cared lovingly for Kathy in the last 3+ years of her life. Her family is truly grateful to the owners and staff.  For John they are like a second family.

The memorial will be on Saturday, November 18, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Bible Fellowship, 2508 State Ave. NE, Olympia, WA 98506.
