Ruby J. Lewis passed away October 14, 2023, in Olympia, Washington.  She was born July 16, 1933, in Williston, North Dakota.

Ruby graduated from Gallatin County High School in Bozeman, Montana, on May 25, 1951.  She married George Lewis on September 5, 1953, at Portland International Airport in Oregon.

Ruby was a receptionist, secretary, and administrative assistant through her working years.  Her most rewarding jobs were working for Oregon Governor Vic Atiyeh and being secretary of her church.  She was president of the North Salem High School Boster Club.  In 1979, the Booser Club nominated her for Oregon Mother of the Year.  She ended up being one of five semifinalists.  She received a “Merit Mother” citation and was honored at a ceremony at the Governor’s office.

Ruby was kind and had a big heart.  She loved her family dearly, especially watching her kids and grandkids as they participated in sports.  She loved sports in general and was a great Mariners fan.  She also loved to garden.
