Obituary of Richard Layne Stout

Richard Layne Stout passed away of natural causes on September 13, 2023, in Cinebar, Washington.  He was born November 20, 1939, to Wayne Dunham Stout and LaRene Clark Stout in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over the years, he also resided in Missouri (2010-2015); Mt. Pleasant, Utah (2005-2010); Bluffdale, Utah (1978-2005); Columbus, Ohio; and Chicago, Illinois.

 

Richard earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, served in the U.S. Army Reserves, and married Renee Stout on August 19, 1964, in the Salt Lake City Temple. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served two missions, the first as a young man in the Midwest States and the second in Salt Lake City with Renee.

 

Richard loved to make anyone smile, friends or strangers.  He also loved writing, exploring, telling jokes, and being inventive and able to fix anything.  He especially loved visiting friends and family.

 

He is survived by his wife, Renee Stout; sons, Brock Stout and Jordan Stout; daughters, Natalie Cowdell, Emily House, and Gina Russon; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Vaughn Stout. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Monte Stout, Owen Stout, David Stout, Maxine Barney.

 

Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 102-30 Crumb Road, Morton, WA 98356.
