Obituary of Karen Keithahn Charter

Karen Keithahn Charter passed away of natural causes on September 13, 2022, in Olympia, Washington.  She was born August 16, 1934, to George and Thelma (Inmon) Keithahn in Tenino, Washington, where she lived her entire life.

 

Karen attended Washington State University, and married Jack Charter on October 18, 1968, in Tenino.  She retired from the Washington State Department of Transportation, and also worked as the recordkeeper for Forest Grove Cemetery for nearly 40 years.

 

She loved basket making, doll making, knitting, and numerous other arts and crafts, as well as collecting many things.

 

Karen is survived by her husband, Jack Charter of Tenino; son, Jim Lauser of Centralia; daughters, Rachel Ninen (Mike) of Las Vegas and Sarah Yearout (Brian) of Olympia; grandchildren, Thomas Ninen, Clayton and Marshall Oldfield; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Colleen Kirchmeier.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Punky Johnson and Nadine Hacker.

 

Services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Forest Grove Cemetery, 18000 Northcraft Rd. SE, Tenino WA 98589.  Memorial donations may be made to the cemetery.
