Obituary of Katelyn Elizabeth Young

“What we hold temporarily in our hand, we hold in our hearts forever.”

Katelyn Elizabeth Young, born April 22, 1998, left our world on June 25, 2022, to be with her dad, Robert Young; her father figure, Scottie McEvers; her grandparents, Wilbur and Pauline Fisk, and Andrew and Barbara Martingano; her dogs; and her horse.

Katelyn was the youngest of three siblings.  She came into this world with a head full of hair and a beautiful smile.  She grew, she thrived.  She had a passion for dogs, horses, and photography.  Anyone who knew her, knows how much of a competitive nature she had, especially in her 12 years of 4-H. She craved knowledge about her dogs, how to train, groom and teach them tricks.  She had her own little dog bathing shop in the family garage, and owned her own photography business, K.E.Y. Creations.  She drove her cousin crazy sometimes before dog shows.

Katelyn gave birth to her beautiful baby girl, Serenity Rhyann, in December 2019, and has been working hard to be reunited with her for the last 16 months.  She loved her little one with all her heart and soul.  In the countless pictures and videos she sent everyone, it was amazing to watch them grow together.  Her love for Serenity was immense and it is hoped that Serenity has now gained a guardian angel to watch over her.

Katelyn had just returned to school to finish her high school diploma at Tacoma Community College.  She passed her first quarter with an A in both classes.  She was on track to get her daughter back.  She was happy and thriving.

Katelyn is survived by her mom, Vicki Williams; daughter, Serenity; sister, Kara Tillinghast and her husband, Austin, and their daughter, Coralie; brother, Nathan Mann and his best friend, Jordyn Slagle, and their daughter, Everley.

We will never say goodbye; goodbye means forever.  See you later Katelyn Elizabeth, may the good Lord be willing.
