Obituary of Barbara Ann Campbell

Barbara Ann Campbell went to Heaven on June 12, 2022. 

 

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Howard Campbell; son, David B. Campbell (Cynthia); mother, Rita T. Handy; and sister, Beverly.   Barbara is survived by her children, Gary Campbell, Lynda Campbell Smith and Brent Campbell (Allison); two brothers, Randy McDowell, Robert McDowell; and two sisters-in-law, Charla Currier and Carole McDowell.  Barbara also leaves behind nine grandchildren, of whom she was deeply proud, Lauren Campbell, Christopher Smith, Cort Campbell, Amanda Smith, Darialle Smith, Carlee Campbell, Ashley Smith Sandberg, Darby Campbell Bodin and Claire Campbell. 

 

Barbara was born in Ohio and later grew up in California, where she met her late husband, Howard, at Pasadena City College.  Together they raised four children.  Barbara worked for St. Peter Hospital, Olympia X-Ray, and Group Health before retiring.  She spent many years being the matriarch of the family and grandmother to all in her East Olympia neighborhood.  She was known for her beautiful flowers, delicious cookies, and the perfect glass of iced tea.  She loved her dog, Sophie, with all her heart. Barbara had many things in life figured out and could always be counted on for a good talk. She was truly Wonder Woman and never gave up on anything or anyone.  Barbara had one motto, "Always Be Kind to Others.” 

 

The family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Fund.
