Timothy O’Grady passed away December 29, 2021, in Olympia, Washington.  He was born May 20, 1948, to Roy and Doris O’Grady in Tacoma, Washington.  He also lived in Shelton and Edgewood, Washington.

Tim graduated from Tacoma’s Lincoln High School, and earned an AA degree Tacoma Community College, and a BA from Western Washington State College. Professionally, he was a telegrapher for the Northern Pacific Railroad, and Compliance Manager for the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industry (1971-2002).  He also worked for H&R Block.

Tim received many awards and recognitions.  He was especially proud of receiving the 1986 Governor’s Distinguished Management Leadership Award from Governor Booth Gardner.

Tim married Gail Buccini on December 14, 1971, in Reno, Nevada.

He enjoyed cooking, reading, railroads, baseball and animals, especially dogs.  Tim was a huge Seattle baseball fan and always wore his Mariners hat.  As a result, he had people from all corners of the world come up to him and ask if this was the year the Mariners would take the pennant.

Tim was a member of the Democratic Party, Catholic Church, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and the Humane Society.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail O’Grady; and sister, Patricia “Pat” O’Grady.
