Obituary of Judith Kay Holland

Judith Kay Holland, 59, passed away January 1, 2022, in Olympia, Washington.  She was born November 16, 1962, to Cecil Ritchey and Mildred Georgetta (Jurich) Ritchey in Los Angeles, California.  A California resident for 50 years, she then moved to Washington State in 2012, where she lived for nine years.

In 1980, Judith graduated from Bell High School in Bell, California.  She married Martin Jay Holland on May 1, 1982, in Victorville, California.  He passed away February 17, 2017.

Judith worked for CDS-Costco as a food sampler from 2018 to 2021.  She loved bowling, swimming, playing bingo, watching soaps and NASCAR. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter, friends, and family out of the country and across the United States. She enjoyed being the best grandmother, mom, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was affectionately known as the “crazy grandma” and “crazy aunt,” and often went by “Fruity Judy.”  She was kind, compassionate, loving, fun, strong-willed, determined, and stubborn.  She will be greatly missed and long remembered.

She is survived by daughters, Ashley Holland (fiancé, Daniel Allen) of Chehalis, and Crystal

Lutes (husband, Allen Lutes) of Aberdeen, Washington; five grandchildren, Sabrina, Andromeda, William, Jordan and Lindsey; sister, Linda Lawhorn of Virginia; nieces, Denise O’Leary and Karen Culbertson (great-niece, Gabriella, and great-nephews, Cameron and Logan); mother-in-law, Marlene Sutter; and best friend, Krista Burke.

She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Martin Jay Holland; father, Cecil Ritchey; and mother, Mildred Georgetta Ritchey.
