Obituary of Susan Patricia Davis

Susan Patricia “Suzy” Davis passed away December 3, 2021, in Olympia, Washington, her home of 43 years. She was born May 31, 1952, to Rayburn Lee Davis and Joanne Patricia (Iverson) Davis in Coos Bay Oregon. She graduated from Olympia high school and went on to marry Ronald Carl Davis on March 3, 1972.

She worked for the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, Parks and Recreation and the Department of Revenue, from which she retired.

She loved cooking and was a wonderful cook; her macaroni salad, chili, and spaghetti were family favorites.  She also loved spending time with her family, A good beer now and then, board games, game shows, gardening and her sweet dog Bambi, who was never far away. She raised two of her grandchildren and spent countless years shaping them into kind, caring and wonderful adults. She was married to her soulmate, Ronald, for 49 years. Fishing and camping with the family when her children were younger in Moses Lake is a very fond memory; the yearly trips with her and all the family is one that will never be forgotten. She loved gardening and would often have hydrangeas and dahlias among many other beautiful flowers in her yard. A yearly garden gave her enough of a bounty to be able to preserve many things with her husband and share with her family and friends. She loved to go for drives to the lake with her husband, when she was in better health, and sit and watch the news and football with him when she was no longer able to.

She was the matriarch of the family and held us all together. She will be forever missed by all of us.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; her son, Oliver Davis, and his wife, Amber; daughter, Kelly Davis; daughter-in-law Michelle Davis (wife of Daniel); grandchildren, Shelby Davis, Oliver Davis Jr, Tyson Benner, Jacob Davis, Charles Snook, Dana Ashe and Blake Davis; 13 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Lori McDonald, and Gail Mance; and her brother, Monty Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rayburn and Joanne; and her son, Daniel C. Davis (2018).
