Obituary of Barbara Ann Hembree

Barbara Ann Hembree, 78, passed away of natural causes on November 26, 2021, in Olympia, Washington.  After having enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with family and friends, she went to sleep here and woke up in Heaven.  What better place to be?! 

 

She was born December 8, 1942, to George and Velma Hembree in Modesto, California.  She lived many places, but she considered Kansas her home.  A service will be held at a later time in Pratt, Kansas.

 

Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother (known as Grandma Kansas), and nurse (retired), and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and Bible study.  She was a member of True Grace Church in Lacey, Washington, and the Nisqually Chapter of Women of the Moose.

 

She is survived by her son, Ric Collingwood of Northridge, Calif.; daughters, Lisa (Michael) Graber of Olympia, and Michelle (Stacey) Abrams of Waunakee, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Amanda Brinduse of Bend, Oregon, and Tyler (Grace) Graber of Brentwood, Tennessee; and sister, Gail (Steve) Stuart of Wichita, Kansas.  She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, George (Thelma) “Tommy” Hembree of Hutchinson, Kansas.
