Obituary of Janice Marilyn Mustoe

On Monday, September 27, 2021, Janice Marilyn Mustoe went to heaven.  Janice was born December 28, 1941, to Roy and Elphia Merle (Kirkland) Smith in Robbinsville, North Carolina.

She graduated from high school in PeEll, Washington, in 1960, and then attended Centralia College.  She married Melvin O. Mustoe on November 10, 1961, and they made their home in Tenino, Washington, where they raised their two children.  Janice was a stay-at-home mom until her kids were raised.  Then she went to work for many departments within the State of Washington.  She finished her career with the Health Care Authority after 30+ years of service.

Janice loved animals.  They always seemed to just show up at the house and she always took them in.  She enjoyed going out to breakfast, followed by a sauna and hot tub visit at their health club.  She really enjoyed her yearly vacation at Harrison Hot Springs and Sol Duc Hot Springs with her husband, children, and grandchildren.  She also loved all things Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, and Sonics.

Janice is survived by her spouse, Melvin Orville Mustoe, of Tenino; her son, Terry Orville Mustoe, of Tenino; her daughter, Sheri Deborah Remy (Dan), Tumwater, Washington; her grandkids, Cameron Jay Mustoe, Colton Drake Mustoe, Alicia (Ally) Rose Remy, and Rachele May Remy; brother, Robert Raymond Smith, of South Bend, Washington; and other family members and friends.  She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Richard Clayton Smith and Randal Edward Smith.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
