Obituary of Geneva Swallow Fitzgerald

Geneva May Swallow Fitzgerald, 96, passed away of natural causes on July 22, 2021, in Shelton, Washington, her home of 53 years.

 

She was born May 6, 1925, to Alfred Beeston Swallow and  Josephine Owens in Fillmore, Utah. Geneva  resided in Draper, Utah, from 1945 to 1968.   

 

A graduate of Millard High School in Fillmore, Geneva married Gerald Fitzgerald on December 20, 1945, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as the Relief Society president on the local and stake level, as well as serving in many other callings.

 

Geneva was caring, compassionate, witty, loving and charitable. She loved gardening, cooking, serving others, and spending time with her grandkids.

 

She is survived by her sons, Gerald Owen Fitzgerald (Pauline), Alfred David Fitzgerald, and Richard Printess Fitzgerald; daughters, Roberta Searles (Don), Valeen Chappell (Larry), and Carla Clarey (Mike); 29 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Fae Snyder of Fillmore, Utah. She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald.

 

Services will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 916 N. 12th Street, Shelton, WA 98584.  Viewing begins at 10:00 a.m.

 

Memorial donations may be made to South Sound Hospice or the LDS Mission Fund.
