Obituary of Dolores J. Abbott

Dolores J. “Laurie” Abbott passed away June 1, 2021, in Winlock, Washington, her home for the last six years.  She was born May 17, 1944, to Everett B. and Dorothy M. (Daffern) Nordin. Other places of residence include Troutdale, Oregon; Kuna, Idaho; Renton, Washington; and various other short-term residences.

 

Laurie graduated from Corbett High School in 1962.  She married Michael G. Abbott on December 20, 1969, in King County, Washington.  Professionally, she was a vendor of various products at fairs and home shows for many years.

 

Laurie loved horses, and once saved the life of one of her colts by performing mouth-to-nose resuscitation. She adored her family and enjoyed time spent with them, especially holidays and watching her grandchildren’s sports when they were younger. She held the office of Membership Chairperson for the Mt. Hood Region Cadillac and LaSalle Club since 2013, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

She is survived by sons, Mike Abbott of Centralia, Washington, Mark Abbott (Cindy) of Montesano, Washington, and Matt Abbott (Sandy) of Chehalis, Washington; grandchildren, Luke Abbott (McKell), Austin Abbott (Kara), Jake Abbott (Cody), Brandon Abbott, Kiersten Apperson (Ryan) and Ashley Abbott; great grandchildren, Boone and Bruer Abbott, Ashlyn and Emery Apperson, and Rowyn Abbott; sisters, Ramona Graven and Judy Todd; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Michael, who passed away July 9, 2018.

Laurie will be inurned next to her husband at Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, Oregon, on a date to be determined.
