It has been a pleasure to have had Mike in my life for over seven years.
I am the Assured Hospice Volunteer Coordinator. And, I met Mike through Jay who has served as a Hospice Volunteer for 12 years. In my role as Volunteer Coordinator, I spoke with Mike multiple times each week. My calls came at all hours and days of the week. Mike greeted me warmly, had lovely stories to share and made me laugh.
Words cannot express how much I will miss having Mike in my life. I am blessed to have called him my friend.

I only knew Mike for a short time, but I cherish my memories of performing with him at OLT. He was warm, generous and funny. All the best to his loved ones. He will be missed.

Mike always said, you'll never get a good picture of me. i just don't photo well.
I say "How about these memories" at Panorama early 2020?
They are nice memories for a dozen of us working on a voiceover movie..

Dad, thank you for always believing in me even when I didn't believe in myself. Thank you for always being there; for your advice, funny stories, and all the walks we took talking about everything and nothing. You always gave me good advice on how to live my life; the one thing I don't know is how to live it without you.
I'll always love you and will always miss you. I left a pawprint here for Dylan, too; he misses you so much. I hope you're taking a walk now someplace pretty with grandpa, and with Breezy & Molly.
I love you,
Rachel

I still cannot believe that we’ve lost Mike. He was such a vital part of our community, and a very special friend. Mike was a gifted actor and director, he was smart, and funny, and one of the most generous spirits I’ve ever been blessed to know. I loved him, I still love him, and I feel very lucky to have known him, if only for far too short at time. I am sending my most sincere condolences to his family, and hope it somehow helps to know how many people were touched by Mike in countless ways.

I remember the last time I saw Mike – walking with Dylan in our neighborhood. Long legs, jeans, and a smile. It is a good memory.
I remember Mike’s friendliness. How he (along with Jay) seemed to make friends EVERYWHERE including the grocery store, every restaurant they frequented, every store they frequented – well, pretty much everywhere they went.
I remember the actor! I remember the director! I remember when he began this career of being on stage. Hard work, fun, and a great new adventure.
I remember him as the ultimate volunteer. From my Sea Ranch days with him and from our life at Panorama. Speaking of which, he (and Jay) were a big part of our moving here and to Holladay Park.
I remember evenings filled with lots of talking and sharing. Along with a bit of wine or scotch, for some of us and of course Iced tea for Mike. I remember learning more about who mike was and where he came from on these evenings.
I remember his love for movies shared with Jay. A LOT of movies.
I remember feeling special because he was my friend and I was his.
I remember mostly the love he had for Jay and Jay for him. Which may be why so much of what I remember about Mike includes Jay. I loved watching them together.
It was a privilege to get share a bit of my life with him.

Mike was my partner and husband for over 33 years. Most of you probably know of our love of the movies. One of our favorite movies is "Four Weddings and a Funeral". In that movie, the surviving husband reads the following poem about his, now deceased, husband. Mike and I always loved this poem and I feel it is very appropriate in this case.
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever; I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one:
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods:
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
The poem is by W. H. Auden. Like many of his other works, it is known by
its first line, "Stop All the Clocks"; it is also known as "Funeral Blues."
I hope you all remember Mike as a great soul who truly cared about people.

Mike and Dylan walked by our Panorama home so often, and because of our cat, couldn't just come in and sit and gab, so we solved all the world's problems, Sea Ranch memories, flying new ideas for Panorama (our wonderful community), get into politics and a raft of other topics, standing in the rain, or sun in our driveway with Dylan looking BORED and ready to go home. Our community will miss him and I will miss him....he was such fun. Sandy Bush
