As a volunteer with The Mountaineers, I knew Don. But I did have to chastise him, because he worked with a cute, quiet, single, and outdoorsy guy name Ray for years at the Dept of Revenue but he never introduced me to Ray. I finally met Ray at a Mountaineers event, and voila, a marriage was born. I would tease Don (and the other Mountaineer coworker Ralph) that they didn't look out for us single women. Ray and I admired Don's work in Tunisia for the Peace Corps.

Cousin Don....I remember on a visit to Toppenish with my Mother sometime in 1960 or '6I, Think.... I think Don was in Hi school and his father, (My Uncle Bill) took us to where Don was picking beans in a summer job....He was working at it.....and there were his Texas relatives in the bean field!!! He looked as if he would have preferred NOT to be there.....I remember that feeling about summer jobs!
He was so much like his father.....and I was glad to see Jean and Don in Tx several years ago....I teased him about the mustache! I don't think he liked it....so I stopped at once!
As my sister said: "We have lost another Taylor." I remember so many things of Don's life....especially how much he enjoyed Germany.....and showed lots germany photos to relatives who were visiting Aunt Rhene in Biloxi.
I remember my Grandmother (Maie--I think Uncle Bill spelled it that way 1st) the name I called her as the 1st grandchild....and the oldest! I happened to be present on the evening she received the phone call about Don's brother 'Little Jimmy' as Maie called him....she was broken hearted by the call and began crying immediately. All of us were sad. And Maie would have reacted the same to hear about Don!
I will never forget Don's and Jean's kindness and wonderful food when a friend and I stopped by on the way to Toppenish to retrieve Mother as she visited her brother Bill.
Our 1st ancestor at Jamestown (Richard Taylor) would be proud of all his Taylor families!!!
To Jean.....my best wishes always.....Love TO YOU AND ALL THE CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN!
