Obituary of Frances Marie Hancock

Frances “Fran” Marie Hancock passed away December 26, 2019 in Rochester, Washington, her home for the last 16 years. She was born January 2, 1936 to Harry and Stella Woodward in Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked as a property manager for HUD facilities in both California and Washington.

Family was No. 1 in Fran’s life. She was a very giving person and would do anything for her family.  She loved having visitors and was fond of saying, “A house full of love has elastic walls.”  She also enjoyed table games, sewing, beading, crocheting, quilting, westerns, John Wayne, Christmas, and Hallmark Christmas movies. 

Fran is survived by her sons, Paul Ernest Monday and George Edward Hancock Jr.; daughters, Judy Darling DeVore, Nola Marie Roberson and Darla Jean Braniff; nine grandchildren; several great- and great-great grandchildren; and sister, Nina Rae Woodward. She was predeceased by her husband, George Edward Hancock Sr.; both parents; daughter, Starla Dean Braniff; one sister and three brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
