Obituary of Tharon R. Shultz

Tharon Rollene Shultz passed away December 21, 2019 in Tenino, Washington. She was born February 14, 1935 to Emma and Rolland Lyle Shultz. She is survived by her son, Gordon Butterton; daughter, Melony Butterton; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Lyle Shultz and Alton Shultz; sister, Aillene Shultz; and one son, Douglas Butterton. 

She was a homemaker and hairdresser, loved to read, and work crossword puzzles. She was a very gifted piano player who also drew pictures and wrote poetry.

Tharon went to school in Tenino, and then moved to Eureka, California for her Dad's work. The family eventually moved back to Tenino. Tharon married Ben Butterton and they moved to Biloxi, Mississippi. There they had their first son Gordon, before moving to Albequerque, New Mexico. Spokane was their next move and where she had their second son, Douglas....and then back to Seattle. From Seattle, she moved to Levittown, Pennsylvania, where their third child, daughter Melony, was born. Tharon also lived in Phoenix and Tempe, Arizona and Plano, Texas before her final move back home to Washington.

Tharon was fun-loving, spiritual, carefree, never complained; was strong, family-oriented, the matriarch, and always the neighborhood "Mom."

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Tenino Quarry House, 217 Park Ave., Tenino, WA 98589.
