Obituary of Fred Duane McConnell

Fred Duane McConnell passed away August 28, 2019 in Olympia, Washington. He was born November 26, 1933 to Fred M. McConnell Jr. and Helen (Converse) McConnell in McPherson, Kansas. 

 

Fred graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1952, and earned a BS in Geology from the University of Oklahoma in 1956 and MBA from Stanford University in 1965.

 

He married Susan Deeter in 1965 in California.  He was remarried in 1979 to Asuncion “Ninez” Ceguerra in Manila, Philippines.

 

Professionally, Fred was a geologist and financial analyst.  He was credit and collections manager at Saudi Aram Co. Oil Company in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and at Fluke Company in Everett, Washington.

 

He loved sports, photography, pets and traveling.  He will be remembered as being a good man, gentle, humble, and generous.

 

Fred is survived by his wife, Asuncion “Ninez” Ceguerra McConnell; son, Christopher McConnell, his wife, Emmylou, and their children, Austin Jaymes and Emma Leanne “Emily”; daughter, Briana McConnell, and her significant other, Kevin Harper; sister, Elisabeth M. Ellis, her son, George McConnell, and his daughter, Serenity; sisters-in-law, Emmelina Ceguerra of Florida, Rosario Belgado of Wisconsin, and Prospero Ceguerra of Australia; and loving extended family.

 

He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Helen McConnell; and grandparents, Fred and Etta McConnell.

 

Memorial donations may be made to any dog rescue organization.
