Obituary of Paula Yvonne Luiken

Paula Yvonne (Tardif) Luiken's journey began April 30, 1950, the day she was born in McLennan, Alberta, Canada to parents, Lucien and Rita Tardif. Paula lived in McLennan, Alberta and northern Alberta, as well as, Rainier, Washington. Our beloved friend, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and partner, transitioned from this earthly life on July 21, 2019.

Paula had a great sense of humor. Other words that describe her are: determined, focused, stubborn, intelligent, handy, and organized. She was a teacher, farmer, successful business owner, creative woodworker, and overall handy-woman. She completed a four-year degreee with a BA in Education. She enjoyed woodworking, home projects, cooking and sewing. Paula's greatest love and passion was and is the teachings of Ramtha.  She devoted her life to being a student of the great work.

Paula is survived by her great friend, Norma; daughter, Michelle Luiken-Knutsen (Eric); grandchildren, Willow, Xander and Sebus Luiken; former husband, Sebus Luiken; brother, Victor Tardif (Margaret); four sisters, Joanne Maisonneuve (Louis), Rolande Johnson (Ernest), Evelyne Naturkach (Ed), and Joyce Labrecque (Maurice); numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Those that passed before her are her sister, Liliane Tardif; father, Lucien Tardif; and mother, Rita Tardif.

There will be a graveside service Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at the Yelm Cemetery, 11540 Cemetery Road, Yelm, WA 98597. Memorial donations are suggested to: JZ Knight's Humanities Fund, or a charity of one's choice.

Near the end of her journey here, she became like the caterpillar in a cocoon and emerged as a beautiful butterfly. She is free. She is loved. She will be missed. Her journey continues on the other side.
