Obituary of Gene Barton

Gene Barton, 72, of Centralia, Washington, passed away at his residence Friday evening, March 15, 2019, due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He was born the son of Edward and Betty Barton on February 20, 1947, in Burley, Idaho.

Gene moved to Washington State, where he met his wife of 48 years, Carol LaBarge. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. Gene loved to laugh and was fiercely devoted to his family. He was known for his carpentry and, later, his auctioneering. Gene's generosity and kindness followed him all through his life. 

He is survived by his sons, Anthony Barton and husband, Carlos Contreras, and Jamie Barton and wife, Kristin; daughter, Angelia Barton and wife, Paula; grandchildren, Bryson and wife, Tabitha, Leslie Erwin and Alexis Barton; great grandchild, Xander Barton; and sisters, Cindy, Gwen, Beverly, Marie and Arlea. Other family members include James Mortimer, Jessica Pierce, Taylor Young and Malaya Miller.
