Obituary of Michael Edward Thompson

Michael Edward Thompson passed away February 17, 2019 in Centralia, Wash.  He was born January 4, 1953 to Henry Thomas Thompson and Mary Martha Baker Thompson in Norton, Va. Over the years, Michael also lived in Raymond, Seattle, and Chehalis, Wash. (his home since 1967).

 

A graduate of Adna High School in 1972, Michael served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1976 on the aircraft carrier USS Independence in the Mediterranean during the Vietnam War.   Professionally, he was the Olympic Operator at Northwest Hardwoods for over 38 years.

 

Michael loved hunting, fishing, motorcycles, cars, camping, bonfires, and gatherings with friends. He was a member of the American Legion.

 

He is survived by sisters, Donna (Paul) Anderson of Smithville, Okla. and Debbie Thompson of Chehalis; nieces, Chelsea Hamilton, Ashley Hamilton, Mary Hamilton, Jessica (Jared) Booth; and nephew, Jacob (Nya) Haunreiter; and great nephew and nieces, William, Jordyn, and Oakley.

 

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019, 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis, WA 98532.
