I was shocked to learn of Mike’s passing, someone so full of energy and life. I was lucky enough to work with Mike at the Supply System where he taught me never to be afraid to ask questions in order to improve my understanding of technical information. His honesty was heartwarming and his sense of humor was so entertaining—he could make you smile in any situation. I, too, was aware of his love for Cheryl (a friend from my junior high days) and was happy that my family and I were able to attend their wedding at Cannon Beach. What a beautiful setting for a special couple. My heart is with you Cheryl as you go through this difficult time. I am one of the many who feel blessed to have known Mike.

I had the good fortune of working with Mike during my time at the Supply System. His commitment to informing the public about the benefits of nuclear power and specifically the potential for the unfinished plants on the west side of the state were outstanding, and I learned a lot from him. But it truly was Mike's sense of humor and incredible positive energy that made him such an asset to our group and profession. You just always smiled and laughed when Mike was around. I was saddened to learn of his sudden passing, He was taken far too soon. I'm so glad that he married and had many years of fun and adventure with his wife, Cheryl.

My heart is heavy tonight having learned of Mike's death. We met in August 1987 when I joined the Supply System communications team. Working with Mike is one of the most treasured memories I have from that 10-year part of my career. Mike was a master of communications and well-versed in the complexities of the Supply System's nuclear construction and operations missions. He was kind, caring, and above all FUN! Every day working with Mike was a joy. Best of all, though, were our Christmas party gift exchanges. I laugh whenever I think about how much Mike enjoyed that annual tradition and how fun he made it for everyone else.
Mike and I kept in touch following our time with the Supply System...from the occasional emails and calls to our annual Christmas card exchange. Sadly, Christmas 2018 will be the last time we communicated.
Cheryl and Mike were blessed to have found such love in their lives. I share in her joy of time spent with Mike and now in her loss. Blessing to you, Cheryl, and both your families.

Mike was our assistant softball coach while we worked at Satsop Nuclear Power Plant. He was kind and fun. Always interesting to talk to.
I do have a memory to share.
While working at WPPSS in Elma Mike wrote for the site newspaper.
One month, he decided to add an article about how women could do a self check for breast cancer. He said it was a public service. In all fairness, I told him if he published that article as a public service, then he should also publish one on how men could do a self check for testicular cancer.
Only one article was published. Bet you can guess which one.

Michael was an outstanding source for employee praise and recognition at the Department of Agriculture for the FTE News Magazine. He was also an uplifting spirit with a positive posture and attitude about public service.
I'm sad we never found the time to discuss how our educational paths had crossed through the years.
I will miss Michael's spirit and passion for the truth in all things. I'm sure many others will also miss his strength of character and perseverance.
May God lift you and your family up at this time and the angels carry to paradise.
Blessings,
Art Mead

Mike was our neighbor for several years when Donna and I lived in Olympia.
He was a great neighbor and friend.
He was a leader who initiated several neighborhood activities, work parties and social parties.
We were sorry to learn of his demise. He is gone but our fond memories of Mike be with us for all time to come.
Sincerely,
Bob and Donna

I have many fond memories of working with Mike during the 11 years we spent at the WNP 3/5 nuclear power plant site near Elma, Washington. I've had several occasions to visit the site since work was stopped there in 1987, and during those visits I always stopped at the building in which our WPPSS community relations group, including Mike, worked to reminisce and dream of what might have been. Thanks, Mike, for being upbeat during the good and bad times.

Oh my, I was saddened to learn that Mike has passed away. I had the fortune to work with mike during the most demanding/hectic period in the life of WPPSS. Mike worked both at Satsop (on Units 3 and 5), and here in the Tri-Cities on Units 1,2 and 4.
Mike was ALWAYS a gentleman, an enthusiastic gentleman. He was an outstanding 'communicator' with many talents, formats of which was his never ending enthusiasm.
What family may not know... was how long he was in love with Cheryl.
Late one evening after work, Mike came in to 'talk' with me ... he had fallen for Cheryl Love, Coy's daughter. And he kept saying that he didn't think she even knew he was alive... should he try to get more friendly by getting closer to Coy. No question it took a lot of effort on Mike's part... but he persisted, and evidently DID capture Cheryl's heart and they got married.
My wife, Margaret, also greatly enjoyed Mike, and his enthusiasm for life.
late in our careers... our paths crossed yet again... when Mike was working for the Department of Agriculture. It was to my joy and pleasure, to find that the Dept. of Ag Mike Louisell, was the Mike L that I had worked with back in the 1980's.
Mike will be missed.
