Obituary of William D. Lunsford

William D. Lunsford passed away, December 22, 2018 in Olympia, Washington. He was born to William R. and Vesta V. Lunsford on August 7, 1933 in Shelton, Washington.  He graduated from Shelton’s Irene S. Reed High School in 1952. In 1955, he went into business with his father, and in 1959, he went to business automation school in Seattle.  He began work for the State of Washington in 1960 in information processing, and retired in 1990.

William traveled some after retirement.  He enjoyed visiting with his many cousins, as well as hiking and camping.  He joined the Mason County Historical Society, became a life member, volunteered, and then became a board member.  He also worked on his family geneaology; his father’s family goes back to before the American Revolution.  William had quite a library, including a number of books on history, including Northwest history.  He also liked to read science fiction.

A reception to honor William’s memory will be held Friday, December 28, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.
