Obituary of Ruth Martha Thomas

Ruth Martha Thomas, 88, passed away October 22, 2018 in Olympia, Washington.  She was born October 12, 1930 to Alexander and Martha Elana Muhonen in Rockford, Illinois.  A 27-year resident of Olympia, Ruth also lived in Bothell, Washington (22 years), Boise, Idaho (27 years), Lake Fork, Idaho (10 years).

She married R. Darwin Thomas on May 17, 1951 in Boise.  Ruth was a very giving and hospitable woman.  She loved painting, stitchery, crafts and playing pinochle.  She worked for Idaho Power Co. did many different volunteer jobs at the Lutheran churches she attended.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Darwin Thomas; sons, Darwin W. Thomas and Randy S. Thomas; daughter, Lynda D. Leach; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Jim Muhonen and Dan Muhonen; and half-brother, Neil Muhonen.  She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Paul Muhonen; and sister, June Arvidson.

Services will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1601 North St. SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
