Obituary of Gabriele Shimabukuro

Gabriele “Gabi” Shimabukuro passed away peacefully in her home on October 15, 2018. She was born on June 19, 1932, in Munich, Germany. She married Henry Shimabukuro on August 24, 1967. The military took them to several places until Henry retired in Lacey, Washington in 1981.

Gabi loved spending time with her family and friends. As she aged, she never lost her spunk or sense of humor. She was very proud of her German heritage but it was her children and grandchildren who brought her the greatest joy.

Her husband, Henry, preceded her in death. Gabi is survived by her eight children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A memorial and reception will be held in Gabi’s honor on Saturday, October 27, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Assn.
