Our hearts are in mourning for Ginger and family. We knew them from our time in Olympia and I always marveled at how Brad traveled wide and far to take care of others. We love you Ginger. He will be missed....

I volunteered with Brad for the Medical Reserve Corp. I would always look forward to his big smile and the care he displayed when he worked with clients. He was always upbeat. The last comment he made, at one of our recent clinics was he had to leave before the children started crying. I will always remember him.

We are the Thai fellows in the Middleton Foundation for Ethical Studies Global Fellowship (MFESGF) program group 4…the last but not least group of students for Dr. Bradley Waite. We can feel his strong will to provide us with what we really wants in the Ethical studies since we haven’t met him. He sent us the tasks we had to prepare before we arrived there. He welcomed us on the first day at our dorm and walked with us to the Middleton Foundation Building. We will never forget what he always asked and we keep repeating this until the words are in our soul…”Our duty is to protect rights, welfare and safety of the research participants”.
We spent a month with him. During that time, he always inspired us with his passion in ethical conduct of research. We remember his charming smile when he answered questions about Ginger. He is definitely a loving family man despite his dedication to his work. He always teased us for taking so many photos with him and then at the end of the course, he’s the one asking for his king of selfies – Dr. Nithipun to take a selfie photo for him.
For all of us, Dr.Waite is a dedicated teacher, we have learned a great deal from him not just his lectures but also his special personality. He is gentle but solid, thoughtful with so many phrases that impressed us. We are so lucky to have known him, and will forever remember the memories we have had with him. We promise with all our hearts to keep on using the knowledge we’ve got from him to protect rights, welfare and safety of research participants.

Ginger, the passing of Brad has struck Kries and me deeply. He was a warm and generous man when I first met him in 1998, and he grew to be both a professional and personal inspiration. We were so pleased that you and Brad could join us in Belgium for several weeks this spring for the European Fellowship in Research Ethics on behalf of MFES, for his contributions to the teaching and mentoring as well as for the friendship during your stay afterwards. Brad has left in his following a legacy of research fellows who will certainly carry his wisdom and humanity forward in their professional lives. It is sad that he had to leave you, his family, and so many friends so suddenly and unexpectedly. We share our deepest condolences and wish you strength in grieving his passing, fortitude in the happiness he brought to you.

Terribly sorry to hear of Brad's passing. My family lived across the street from the Waite's in Wichita. Myself and my sisters, my parents as well all have very fond memories of Brad and his parents. My dad Stanley passed away in 1975. The rest of use all still here but we left the neighborhood some years later. Brad was very encouraging to me growing up to do something with my life, as he did. I was five years younger and became a geologist. I think Brad would be pleased with me. Thank you so much for making his passing known to us in his old hometown. God Bless Brad and all of you who loved him. Blessing to have known him. Best going forward. Kim

Just a few months ago Brad and I had the chance to grocery shop and cook together. It was all about the dumplings. By the time I got up in the morning Brad had the list ready so off we went to the grocery store.
We were so funny together searching for exotic items for our meal contemplating packages. At home we chopped and kneaded and talked. Ah the crimping of the the dumplings were very important to Bead. Darn if his dumpling crimping turned out better than mine. The dumplings and hot and sour soup were great and ooohd and ahhhd in the right places. Even sat me down 40 years ago to talk to me about my pick of men. He also was a great and serious gold panner. I will miss you my brother your smile, you advice over the many years and your friendship. Heike

It was such an amazing time to spend with you, Ginger, Sara and Amanda when Dr Bob and I came to see you last week. My time with Brad was limited to the last 7 years in Olympia and it was wonderful to hear about the many, many lives he touched in such an empowering way in his time. The difference we make is the contribution to humanity and Brad was absolutely a contribution.
I remember trying to teach him how to get online in our office and how to use our POS system to schedule his pilot physicals and how he would come to my office door and lean on the door frame with a smile and say " so how does this work again?" made me smile every time!
He is missed.
Myself and all the staff of Ideal Wellness NW and Dr Robert R Nooney wish you all healing, hugs and laughter through the tears.
Unfortunately we will be out of the country for the memorial on the 29th however our thoughts will be with you and we will toast Brad from Italy.
Love,
Pam

It is surreal to think that I won't see that welcoming smile at Thanksgiving. He told funny stories and would play guitar at family gatherings. He loved the outdoors and surrounded himself with plants at his home. But, most of all, he was a dear person. He was compassionate and loyal. He was darned smart. He had so many great qualities that I can't list them all but I feel them when I think of him. Farewell, Brad. I won't forget you. XO

A beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. My deepest sympathy to Brad's family.
Interesting how you learn things about a person after they are gone you wish
you knew before.
I too grew up in Kansas just a few miles west of Salina on a farm. I am sorry
Brad and I did not talk about our early life in Kansas.
He did seem to have the characteristics of a good Kansan.
My time at the Western Institutional Review Board were made even more
interesting working with Dr. Waite.
