Obituary of Donna Marie Davies

On July 9, 2018, Donna Marie Davies, 69, passed away in Tumwater, Washington, her home for 25 years,  

She was born March 29, 1949 to Cloyd Earl and Marie June (Antonelli) Thompson in Lynn, Massachusetts. After graduating from Lynn English High School in 1966, she served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970.  Stationed in Texas and then Washington, D.C., she proudly served our country as a physical therapist, helping returnees from Vietnam.  Once out of the military, she earned an Associate’s Degree from North Shore Community College in Massachusetts.  While in school, she worked as a librarian and eventually worked for Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and then many years at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia., Washington. 

In February 1970, Donna married James Arthur Davies in Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Donna and Jim lived and raised their two sons in Newburyport before moving to Washington state in the early 1990s.  Donna loved quilting, cooking, social media, and especially spending time with friends and family.  She also was an avid Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her son, Keith James Davies; four grandchildren; brother, Philip Craig Thompson of Nevada; and sister, Patricia Carol Dunton of Rockport, Massachusetts.  She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James; and son, Timothy James "TJ" Davies.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, 1:00 p.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m.

A memorial service for Donna will be held in Spring 2019 in New England. Date, time and place have yet to be determined.
