Obituary of Jennifer Ann Boling

Jennifer Ann Boling was born on June 4, 1962 in Albany, Oregon and left too soon on August 9, 2014 in Olympia, Washington after an ardent fight with Small Cell Lung Cancer. Jennifer was married to Richard “Darrin” Boling. They lived together in Evergreen Shores for the past eight years, where they raised their son, Zachariah Boling. Darrin works for the DOC and Jennifer was a medical transcriptionist for Olympia Orthopedic Associates. She is also the devoted mother to Jay Becker, Michelle Long, Caleb Ruzicka and Alessändra Smith; and grandmother to eight grandchildren. Jennifer was the youngest of five children. As a little girl, her family moved from Albany, Oregon to Milton-Freewater, Oregon, eventually ending up in Sequim, Washington, where her parents built a home. Being 17 years younger than her closest sibling, she was practically an only child and had a close, loving relationship with her parents. She met the father of her oldest four children and her first husband, Todd Ruzicka, while attending Sequim High School. After graduation, they moved to Port Angeles, Washington, and then Salem, Oregon, and Independence, Oregon, before settling in Olympia, Washington. Jennifer and Todd remained close throughout her life. She met her second husband, Darrin Boling, in 1994 and was married after the birth of their son, Zachariah Boling, in 1995. She easily incorporated her older children into her new family. They lived together in Toledo, Washington for most of their marriage before finally moving to Olympia. She loved a busy house and was keen on having her grandchildren, the first born in 2000, always around her. Jennifer was a kind mother who wanted nothing more than the happiness of her children and grandchildren. When she wasn’t devoting her time those around her, she would spend time attending yard sales, restoring furniture, gardening and collecting anything unicorn related. Jennifer is survived by her children and grandchildren; her husband; her brothers, Jay Harmon Becker III and Joel Becker; sisters, Janice Becker and Jacque Ford; and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Becker, and father, Jay Becker Jr. Donations in Jennifer’s name may be made to YWCA of Olympia (The Other Bank), 220 Union Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501.
