Peggy Bettine

Obituary of Peggy Ann Bettine

Peggy A. Bettine Peggy Bettine, 84, of Lacey passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013. She was born to the late Martin and Marguerite Egbert in Mt. Vernon, Washington, and was raised on the family dairy farm where she lived a very loving and lively life. Peggy graduated from Burlington High School and went on to receive a BA in education from Central Washington University where she met her husband to be, Ed Bettine. They married in 1951 and moved to Lacey before moving to Long Lake, which has been home for 52 years. Peggy was a well loved kindergarten teacher for 18 years. She retired from teaching to join her husband in the family business, Bettines’ South Sound Marine. They both retired in 1989. Peggy’s biggest priority in life was friends and family. Her positive attitude and patience made her a wonderful woman that many people came to in times of need. A lover of life and nature, Peggy will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She is survived by her husband, Ed; her three daughters, Marga (Ed), Liz (Mike), and Patti (Doug); two precious-to-her-heart grandsons, Drew and Nick, sons of Patti and Doug; brother, Jim (Evelyn) Egbert; sister, Patricia Sodergren; and a fun loving group of nieces and nephews. Please join us for a Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the family home. Memorial donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
