Kayla and I were neighbors for several years, and we met through Teddy and Jesse. I have a poodle, too. Our dogs spent many evenings ‘greeting’ one another (barking loudly) and we’d often laugh about how boisterous our dogs all were. Kayla, Teddy, Jesse, Mickey and I sometimes walked around our neighborhood together. Kayla was a sweet and beautiful soul who loved her family and her dogs very much. I was greatly saddened to hear today that she is gone. I won’t forget her. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Kayla. She lived in our condo building in Seattle. We’d run into each other often with our dogs. And was always with her poodles. She was so sweet and sporty in her fun aqua car.
My thoughts are with your family.

Most people cannot understand the pain of losing a child. We can. We lost our own son four years ago. We heard a phrase a while back that gives us comfort: ‘Some people aren’t meant to stay in our lives, but they will always be in our hearts.’

Time will not erase your pain but time may ease some of the pain. Great memories are a blessing. My thoughts are with you and your family. Love, Merry

Dear Kate and Robert,
I cannot imagine the pain in your hearts. It is deeper than most people can even believe.
I have counseled people ( parents, siblings, children..) going through grief which is individual for everyone. I’m not sure it will ever make any sense so don’t let anyone tell you “it will get better”.
Do not rush this process. Remember Kayla in all her beauty as often as you can. Do what ever is needed to express your loss and love for her. Honor what you need for your selves from day to day… and hold onto each other. Some day you will wake up and realize the pain isn’t as sharp as it was and it will begin to fade around the edges so you can live with it. Until then… I am holding you and your family in all the healing light and love I can create.
